There is no deadline to join NHSRA/LHSRA; however, all electronic documents must be accurate and complete, uploaded in the member’s NHSRA portal, and NHSRA and LHSRA dues paid online before entries close for the initial rodeo that the member plans to enter. If entering Tri-Parish Rodeo, October 4-6, in Crowley, Louisiana, all documents should be uploaded and accurate, no later than Friday, September 27, 2024.

NHSRA MEMBERSHIP PORTAL INFORMATION

· Prospective members must register at https://nhsra.equestevent.com/.

· NHSRA requires that membership must be competed online and all documents both correctly completed and correctly uploaded into the member’s portal before entering a qualifying rodeo. There is no workaround to uploading documents.

· If transferring from another state, when selecting Louisiana with an out-of-state address, the NHSRA membership system automatically populates a Transfer Form for response. No other action on the part of the member is required. The program forwards the form to both incoming and outgoing National Directors for their electronic signatures.

· NHSRA is REQUIRING that all documents be uploaded to the proper electronic file, NOT as one Miscellaneous Document. Upload as follows:

o National Minor’s Release Form (signed and notarized)

o National Membership Application (signed)

o State Application – Junior High or High School Entry Blank (signed and notarized)

o Grades – 2024 Year-end OR current report card or progress report.

o Birth Certificate – for first year members only

o Home School Approval – for members not attending a Louisiana Department of Education Approved Public, Private or Parochial School (Louisiana Department of Education approved ONLY. Must be approved (NOT PENDING NOR SUBMITTED) at time of registration. No other approvals or accreditations are recognized. o Miscellaneous - Social Media Policy and Raffle Agreement (signed and notarized)

Again, each document must be uploaded SEPARATELY into the APPROPRIATE CATEGORY.

· All dues must be paid online by credit card:

o LHSRA State Dues - $100 and

o NHSRA High School Division - $139 or

o NHSRA Junior High Division - $95.

· When completing the NHSRA membership info, use PARENT INFO for the Main/Mobile Phone and the Primary Email. Both texts and emails will be used to communicate important information from both NHSRA and LHSRA. Texts and emails will be sent regularly through this system.

· Do NOT opt out of text messaging.

· BOTH BIOLOGICAL PARENTS must sign all NHSRA and LHSRA documents. The only exceptions are a deceased parent, FULL Custody of one parent (NOT Domiciliary Custody), LEGAL GUARDIANSHIP or POWER OF ATTORNEY to act on matters involving rodeo, sports and/or extra-curricular activities. (Copies of the applicable guardianship or POA document must be uploaded if both biological parents are not signing.) If there is only one signature, one of the following must be written on each line that the second parent would sign: DECEASED, FULL CUSTODY, LEGAL GUARDIANSHIP, or POWER OF ATTORNEY. Stepparents without official adoption or legal guardianship documentation SHALL NOT sign as parents.

· Please be very careful to assure that the new or renewing member’s info is entered or updated, all NHSRA and LHSRA documents are completed online, printed, signed, notarized when applicable, before uploading back into the member’s online account.

· DO NOT upload the Insurance Card provided in the Member Portal. That is made available electronically for member information and use.

· DO NOT MAIL ANY DOCUMENTS OR FEES
