CONDITIONING CATTLE AND BARRELS’ & POLES’ ARENA ACCESS

Please note 7:30am start time and order of stock/events.

Wednesday, May 29 – High School ONLY

All are welcome to watch adults run stock.

HS contestants are welcome to tie HS stock.

HS barrel racers and pole benders will have the opportunity of an open arena

 (no barrels nor poles set up) for a run on the one horse used for competition,

following conditioning of all stock.

All ties and runs will be orderly and there will be no make-up time,

if contestant is not present when time to run.

 

ADULT BOARD MEMBER ELECTIONS

Voting will be held from Friday, March 24 through Friday, March 31,

in the Rodeo Office.

 

STUDENT OFFICER ELECTIONS

Student members in grades 9-11 may submit single page campaign ads

for President, Vice-President, and Secretary to post on the website

and share through personal social media.

Text to 337-540-4623 by Monday, May 27, at 9:00pm.

Elections will take place during High School Check-in on Wednesday, May 29.

 

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS

Applications for both to be submitted at High School Check-In

on Wednesday, May 29, 5:00-7:00pm.

NOTE: LHSRA application is the same as NHSRA application for senior NHSFR Qualifiers.

 

CREDIT CARDS ONLY AT BURTON

Burton Complex is a cashless facility.

All facility purchases must be paid by credit card:

Stall and RV Rentals, Wristbands. Concession Stand, etc.

 

BURTON COLISEUM BAG CHECKS

There is NOT a clear bag policy at Burton Complex, but all bags

must be checked upon entry. Clear bags help expedite the bag check.

 

STALLS’ AND RVs’ INFO AND CHECK-IN

Event Barn Office

Stalls – $20 per day; bring your own shavings, no shavings sold onsite.

Limited to 1 per Qualified Event (excludes rough stock) for High School Qualifiers ONLY

week of May 27-June 1 not transferable,

will be rented upon arrival, no prior reservations.

Sunday, May 26: 6pm – 9pm: Cutting/Reined Cow Horse RV Check-In & Stalls Rented

Monday, May 27: Holiday – NO RV CHECK-IN OR STALL RENTALS

Tuesday, May 28: 2pm – 9pm: RV Check-In & Stalls Rented

ALL CUTTING & REINED COW HORSE STALLS MUST BE CLEARED BY 4:00PM

Wednesday, May 29: 8am – 9pm: RV Check-In & Stalls Rented

 

WRISTBANDS

$10 per performance; $40 per LHSFR pass (5 performances)

Tickets available onsite at contestant check-in and one hour before each perf and via Ticketmaster

No charge for children 12 and under.

 

DRESS CODE

Any LHSRA student member may enter Burton Coliseum for any performance

at no charge in full western attire with back number pinned on the back and

shirt tucked in for one hour before and until the performance is over.

All qualifiers must adhere to the same NHSRA dress code rule if in any part of the Coliseum.

Dress code applies to all performances, including Cuttings and Reined Cow Horse.


GOODIE BAG STUFFING

149 HS goodie bags will be stuffed Wednesday, May 29, at 1:00pm.

Anyone with goodie bag items should bring them to the Chalkley Room by 1:00pm.

Volunteers are welcome to help!

NON-QUALIFIERS

are welcome to participate in all events with the exception of rodeo competition.

Dress code must be followed.

 

MEMORIAL NAMES

of those family members and friends deceased since June 1, 2023,

will be collected during check-in and read before each performance.

 

CHECK-IN

will include entry fees ($50/event) and optional jackpot fees ($50/event),

payable in separate checks or cash only,

college info tables, volunteer sign-up for BRODEO 2025,

felt back numbers, goodie bags and more!

 

PHOTOS

with family, friends, rodeo equipment will be available during check-in

by James Phifer, PRCA and NFR professional rodeo photographer.

 

SADDLE MICROCHIPPING

The Louisiana Department of Agriculture through the Livestock Brand Commission

will microchip saddles for the public at no charge on Friday, May 31,

10:00am-2:00pm, in the Outdoor Arena.

 

ALUMNI RODEO

Saturday, June 1, 10:00am, Burton Coliseum

Plaques awarded.

DOG RACES

Rachel Odell will host her famous Dog Races!

HS ONLY – Wednesday, 3:00pm

Outdoor Arena

Limited to one dog per contestant.

No aggressive dogs, please!

 

OPTIONAL PERFORMANCE THEMES

The Student Officers have created optional dress themes for performances

with prizes for Best Dressed!

Contestants must be in full dress code.

 

SPIRIT BANNERS

May be hung ONLY along the second level rails

and not in anyone’s line of vision.
